For someone like that, I’d have to go up and ask for a portrait. The hat and glasses combo works for me. Tricky to fill in the shadows, though, and I haven’t started carrying flash or reflectors with me.

I have to be in a pretty happy place before I ask people to take their image 😦 A friend suggested it would be interesting to take a shot without them knowing and then another with their permission. It would make for a good project on perception of self… One day…

That’s part of why I’m doing my Hatitude project. It gets me talking to people and aiming for a considered portrait. I’m hoping the portraits get better, but it’s mostly about improving my communication with people.

Nice… I keep meaning to do this with people with piercings but need brain to shutdown/restart to get out of current head space. The idea was to shoot street images and then do a series of studio portraits…again one day…
