Abandoned Service Station

I found this abandoned service station in Upper Hutt, Wellington a couple of weeks ago…

Erskine

Another exploration with Fergus. This time Erskine College out in Island Bay.

Unfortunately Fergus was a bit cagey about what we were going to shoot so all I had with me was my Rollei and the RZ with a 180mm and Pan F 50 ISO Film. I would have loved to have the F5 with a 19mm but I made the most of what I had and we will definitely have to go back  and shoot it again.

Erskine College closed in 1985 and while parts are still used for function rooms and the cathedral most of it is in disrepair.

Return To The Abandoned Fever Hospital

These shots are from the second trip to the abandoned Fever hospital (The images from the first trip are HERE)

The light was much more subdued this time and being able to shoot wide with the 50mm on 6×7 (28mm equivalent) was pretty cool.

Cant wait to go back after dark sometime and splash some light around 🙂

Abandoned School

Last weekend Fergus AKA Cunningvision took me to an abandoned school out by where he lives. Lets just say I wasn’t expecting the school to be quite as large and run down as it was… In short it was way cooler than I was expecting 🙂

Apparently it used to be part of Hutt Valley High School but hasn’t been used in quite a while… Must go back again…

“Kingdom Come” Set Via Rollei

More shots of the Kingdom Come abandoned set.

I especially like the one of the wall where you can see the patterns of glue that were used to stick on the stone frontages.

Kingdom Come Abandoned Set

Went and had a look at the abandoned set for Kingdom Come last night.

Lets just say that the Wellington weather is having its way with it… Not to mention the graffiti artists…

It all feels a bit mournful with all the work that went into it without being completed and then being destroyed by the elements.

Looks like it is quite the popular place to go as we weren’t the only ones there.

Colour film from Rollei and B/W from F5 still to come 🙂
