Homeless In Wellington
Seen on Manners Street… I can’t remember when I took this but it was in the last week or so. The warmer weather seems to be bringing them out of the woodwork.
I find it hard to believe that there is talk of moving them along for the rugby world cup to make the city look nice… Where are they going to move them along to?

One Of “Those” Days And A Protest
It turned out to be one of “Those” days.
As I was wandering to Photo Warehouse to get some more film I came across this protest against Burma’s treatment of the Kachin and other minorities, not in itself a bad thing, however I only had 3 shots left.
After finishing these 3 shots I continued on, missing at least 1 more shot since I didn’t have any film, and bought another couple of rolls.
While loading the first roll I managed to reload the roll which I had just taken out, which jammed in the camera and had to be taken out in a dark-box.
Later in the day while I was developing that roll I noticed that it had suffered a couple of creases from being reloaded which I have very badly burned in using Photoshop.
And then to top it all off the image that I was really looking forward to of the little girl sitting on the steps… Yup she blinked 🙂

Graffiti Spacing Fail
Spotted this on the bus shelter by the Northland Tunnel. It wasn’t the best time of day for taking this image but lucky I did since it had been painted out by the council the next day.

Shooting The Shooters Again
Protest about Burma’s human rights record in the background. Should have shot it a bit more wide open but you can already start to see the lens aberrations on the lower right hand side.

Sleeper and Poem
I realised I haven’t posted a sleeper shot in a while. To be honest they have been a bit thin on the ground with the cold winter weather. The fine spell has meant that they have started to appear again.

Another Book Sale
I think this is the biggest one that is held at the TSB Arena every year. The light wasn’t as good as the rowing club one but there were certainly more books. This was taken on the second day so it also wasn’t quite so frenzied.

Vegetable Peeling On Cuba Street
School holidays are still going strong here which is still limiting the amount of shooting I am doing but everything should be back to normal next week. I have missed a couple of great shots, including a sleeper on the waterfront complete in sleeping bag, from not having a camera because of biking or general two kid activities. I’m not complaining since we have had a pretty good holiday.
These were shot while the kids were playing on the Tuatara and slide on Cuba Street.

Sitting In Civic Square
School holidays are upon me again… It’s a time where my wanderings are a bit curtailed having to look after two small people not just one… So its back to the archives for a week or so until I can get out shooting again…
Here’s one from summer in Civic Square.

Coffee Vs Beer
This is from the other weekend where rain interrupted a street shoot with me and Fergus (Cunningvision).
The first shot is sitting outside the St James Theater on Courtenay Place drinking coffee with Rollei on the table pre-focused and the second is on Cuba Street outside J J Murphy’s drinking beer with the same setup although I did have to get Fergus to lean out of the shot while I took it and it was a bit under exposed…

Cops With Spray Cans? WTF?
I spotted this in Leftbank Mall earlier in the week… Apparently the police are looking for new ways to recruit people.
Um isn’t this kind of illegal? Maybe they got permission?
To me this just evokes images of a couple of uniformed cops with spray cans and stencils looking shifty… possibly one on lookout while the other puts up the stencil… both jumping at the sound of any passerby…
The old guy looking in the window was just a bonus…

Shooting The Shooters
Shot from last weekend when Fergus aka Cunningvision and I went out for a street shoot, which 10 minutes into it the weather packed up and rained for the next hour or so…
This didn’t mean that we packed it in just that time was also spent at Galleries, drinking coffee and later on drinking beer 🙂 I got some shots while drinking both coffee and beer so a productive use of time all round.
