Sleeper On The Waterfront

This was one of the reasons I wasn’t too worried about getting the Slut Walk (yesterdays post) all confused since I would have missed this sleeper if I had…

Sleeper?

This one is possibly a cheat as I’m not really sure if this guy was asleep or just lying in the sun…

Diver

Prepping for a dive… Not sure if this was a training dive or something to do with checking the piles under the pier  which is soon to be redeveloped…

Happy 20th Isobel and Sleeper

I have been trying to get an image of this piece of graffiti for about a week  (it’s gone now) but with the light I hadn’t had any luck with framing it up. Saturday I noticed this sleeper but when I first saw him there were a whole bunch of people drinking next to him who I thought might be his friends so I decided not to shoot it since drunk friends usually take an exception to people taking images of their passed out comrades.

I went round the block and came back to find the so-called friends just leaving so managed to get this shot. I could have got closer but liked this composition best as it incorporated a piece of graffiti (now gone) as well as the sleeper themselves.

I have no idea who Isobel is…

Sleeper On Courtenay Place

Spotted this one as I was driving past and had to park the car and go back to get them. I ended up taking about 4 shot before wandering away 🙂

A Lost Sleeper And Another Blanket Man Sleeper Shot

I have been going through my collection of images lately with an outlook to organise them into sets when I found this image from the Rugby 7’s in February. It was about 4 in the afternoon and this guy had crashed at a bus stop… I’m not sure what he was supposed to be dressed up as.

The second one is blanket man again from last weekend. I love how he is lying across the footpath and people just walk around him.

Sleepers. Blanket Man

Most cities have at least one notorious homeless person who everyone knows of, Wellingtons is Blanket Man… He sits on Courtenay Place in a loincloth wrapped in a blanket all day every day. I guess he sleeps there too…

Cuba Street Sleeper

Couple of views of the same sleeper on Cuba Street last Saturday morning… I like the hat under the seat… I wonder if he found it when he woke up?

Grandstand Sleeper

Some people can all asleep anywhere… This is on the temporary grandstand for the Dragon Boat Races

St James Sleeper

This guy was asleep outside the St James Theatre on Courtenay Place. This is the same place where I took the image of the drunks the day after.

Uncomfortable Sleeper

Last weekend I went out early to find sleepers only to find that the council was out in force mowing and cleaning everything in sight. However it did mean that this guy probably moved away from where he usually crashed and this was much more interesting.

In other events I have officially become a sleeper “Snob” walking past one in the weekend because they weren’t interesting enough… Not sure if this is a good thing.

Yet Another Sleeper

Last weekends sleeper find… The poll I ran last week was mostly inconclusive so I am still trying to work out what I should call this category of images.
