Bus Casuality on Manners Street

As I was coming back from getting lunch I noticed a group of people clustered around someone on the footpath. As I got closer it turned out to be someone who had just stepped out onto the street without looking both ways (day 3 of the new road layout where buses go both ways on a previously one way street) and was hit by a bus.

Lets just say that this was a really hard image to take and I think this comes across in the image itself… it probably didn’t help that I was shooting 50 ISO film… but I think the camera shake adds some anonymity to the image.

Fatherhood Friday 29: 8 Sleeps til Christmas

Wow! Where did the year go?

Emily is getting very excited and pretty much every night before bed saying “I hope Santa comes tonight”.

The christmas tree has been up for a number of weeks and Samantha has only nearly pulled it over once so far and has been remarkably good about not opening the presents that have started to appear under it from various well organised relatives 🙂

The bike track is still under construction but they have the small people track finished, Emily is getting super fast going around a I can hardly keep up with her on my bike… Looks like there is going to be another daredevil in the family….

It Must Have Been Cold

It must have been a cold night in the Alley…. Not sure how the heating would have helped but you never know…

Sunday Assisting Job

I had an assisting job yesterday with photographer Bev Short… We have done quite a bit of work together and she is reasonably cool with me taking shots like this where usually it would be frowned upon.

It was an image for her book shot around a car wreckers yard… Needless to say we were all filthy by the end of it 🙂

I like that the strobe is in the engine bay… for some reason it amuses me.

More shots of wrecked cars to come…

More Fire Action on Victoria Street?

Looks like someone must have a faulty fire alarm in their building since this seems to be the 3rd or 4th call out in as many weeks.

I guess it gives these guys some practice.

Boat Sheds at Titahi Bay

A collection of boat Sheds at Titiahi Bay just out of Wellington.

I like how a number of them seem to have dishes to get satellite TV 🙂

Building Demolition

Building being gutted behind Manners Street… Looks like it used to be a theatre of some sort even though I don’t remember one being there.

The bottom shot is taken from the roof of the Lombard car parking building.

Here are some animal shots from our family trip to Staglands Reserve.

Who knew piggies could be so cute.
