London Street Photography Festival Entry? And A Shot Of Me.

I have been thinking of entering this competition for a little while now and there is only a week and a half to go before entries close… Any images people liked or were memorable? Cant be a posed shot which is most of what I do anyway and can be a single image or a set of images…

Let me know

Cheers

Here’s a shot that Andrew aka Saturday Harrasser took of me when we were out shooting after the rugby 7’s earlier in the year. Shot with a Nikon D700 and processed using Silver Effects Pro to look like Ilford Delta 3200 ISO Film (which was what I was shooting that night). There’s not many shots of me I actually like but this is definitely one of them and I have to say that the film grain is pretty damn close to what Delta 3200 actually looks like… Good work Andrew we should got out shooting again some time…

Sleepers Seem To Occur In Sets Of Two

For some weird reason shots of sleeping people seem to happen in sets of two. These two images were taken within about 2 minutes of each other.

The Performance Arcade 2011

On another wander around the waterfront we (Samantha and I) came across this series of art installations. Samantha was very interested and kept wanting to go back and look some more. You can see her hanging out of the backpack in a window reflection in one of the shots with the photography studio.

I think my favorite images is the very last one…

Pigeon Swarm

Samantha in the backpack really didn’t like this… It was a point and shoot moment… well as point and shoot as you can get with a Rollei

Rolleiflex 2.8 E, Ilford HP5+ 400 ISO Film, CanoScan 9000F Scanner.

A Spot Of Fishing

A bit more waterfront action from the weekend. He had to leave shortly after I took this shot due to the swimming leg of a triathlon going straight through where he was fishing.

Rolleiflex 2.8 E, Ilford FP4+ 125 ISO Film, CanoScan 9000F Scanner.

Return Of The Rollei

Rollei has been away for the last 3 weeks having some repairs done as well as a bit of a general service… The Rollei withdrawal has been a bit harsh but the 35mm fix has been helping to stop the cold sweats and occasional bouts of shakes.

Anyway I got it back last week and have put about 3 rolls of film through it already and I’m feeling much better…

There is some sort of Karate tournament on at the moment so there are people doing stuff like this all over the city

Wrapped Bike

Bike and trees all wrapped up with fliers for the Fringe Festival I think…

Panda In Tight Gold Shorts?

Lunch time wander this time… Sometimes stuff just jumps out at you like this guy… I’m assuming that he was on a stag type deal and his friends made him dress this way but you never know…

More Waterfront Action. Rowers This Time

So I went down to the waterfront again before work on Sunday this time with my trust Nikkor 80-200 f2.8 hoping to catch a bit more from the Dragon Boat racing that was going on the day before. Unfortunately they weren’t there but the rowers were just coming back after a mornings training.

Dragon Boats

On one of my many before work wanders (I no longer work so these have now become extinct, RIP) I came upon a training session for the upcoming Dragon Boat races. Armed with only my trust Nikon F5 and a 50mm f1.8 lens I set about trying to capture the event in a very short window of opportunity before I was supposed to be at work.

Windy In Wellington

Been a bit windy here in Wellington lately…
