Trials Styles
Yesterday I went to the Bowlarama skate competition (big post coming tomorrow if I get all the images processed) and about half way through I remembered that I had parked my car on a 2 hour park and that was something like 3 hours ago. Luckily no ticket when I got back to it and snapped this guy doing trials stuff on his bike on the way back…
I ended up shooting all the film I had with me at the comp long before it ended 🙂

Rugby Sevens
One of the shots I took during the Rugby Sevens competition over the weekend… If you aren’t familiar with Rugby Sevens its a seven aside short rugby tournament which is run over a couple of days… The fans all dress up and it is pretty much one big party…

Occupy Wellington Before And After Eviction
Occupy Wellington Got evicted the other day. It was pretty much going to happen as the city tried to tidy its image for the Rugby 7’s. I missed the actual eviction which was apparently a bit heated but have put together some before and after shots… They aren’t exact since I was doing it completely from memory from a few months ago but you get the idea.
In the 5th shot you can see a guy on a bike talking to the security guard… The same guy is one of the original protestors in the shot below :)… There was no animosity and they were just having a chat.
I like how chilled out Wellington is sometimes 🙂

Busking With Style
Saw this a couple of weeks ago on the waterfront… I usually don’t take pictures of buskers but this one was too cool to miss. Not only was he playing some smokin piano, he was playing on the back of a super cool pickup and if that wasn’t enough he also had an old school mechanical drum machine that was playing along. Unfortunately just as I got there it started to rain and he packed up 😦

Waterwheel
A replica of the wheel that used to drive industry in the early days… This one was built around 1936 and then restored in the 1980s… I was surprised at how little water it took to keep it going round.
Chair
Yup its a chair 🙂

The short bouts of nice weather have bought out the wharf jumpers.

Waiting For Toilets
This was originally part of the set from the Dresden Dolls but when I saw it I decided it fit more with the street stuff I have been shooting and decided to post it today by itself.
I really like this shot…and I don’t really say that about my images 🙂

Electric Busker
I usually don’t take images of buskers unless I give them money but this one was too good to miss 🙂 Will have to track them down and give them a copy…

Abandoned Service Station
Spotted this while driving round Upper Hutt a week or so ago. The amusing thing with this shot for me was that when we pulled up I parked directly opposite with the plan of using the car for a tripod. Unfortunately the car was too close and since I only wanted to move it a couple of metres I got Fergus (Cunningvision)to take the handbrake off and pushed it back. Just as I was doing this a kid walked past and gave me a WTF kind of look 🙂 I guess i was pushing the car away form the petrol station 🙂
