GCSB Bill Protest Wellington Part 3… The Final
Last post from the GCSB protest on last weekend in Wellington.
These ones were taken on a Nikon FG20 which I bought from an Op Shop for $35. The film is also 8 years expired which gives it a bit of flaring and blocking out of the blacks.
I quite liked the effect as its not your usual super sharp, super well exposed documentary photos we are use to seeing.

Hi My Name Is Simon…
Posts have been a bit far apart of late and to be perfectly honest I have been out taking a whole heap of images, partly because its winter and cold outside.
I have just invested in a set of studio lights (Bowens Gemini 750s with batteries) and haven’t really had them out of there case since I got them 🙂 The double garage under the house is being roughly converted to a studio space and eventually I should start setting up some shoots there. I am however excited by the prospect of taking the lights out to some urbex locations to shoot some portraits but really need the weather to be a bit more settled.
I went out for the first time to shoot street yesterday and although I didn’t take any images I’m going to try and get out at least once a week.
Anyway hopefully this means a few more images to come onto the blog.
Here is a shot from a couple of months ago from Fergus as I was just starting to get bits and peices set up…

GCSB Bill Protest Wellington
Well it looks like its been a while since I have posted anything…
I went to the GCSB Protest in Wellington last Saturday along with my trusty Rolleiflex 🙂 Only just started scanning the shots today and so far this one stands out…
In hindsight it is a bit weird that I went to a protest about being watched and listened in on… Street photographer and all 🙂

Two Ladies Talking
Still haven’t been getting out street shooting lately but taking the occasional shot when I do get into town… In the process of setting up a studio in the double garage under the house so will be interesting to see what come of it all. Hopefully going to bust out the 4×5 for some large format goodness 🙂

Whats The Time
Its been a while since I have been out street shooting (or even shooting at all) and I am surprised how out of practice I really am…
Must get out more!!

Flowers I
I have been collecting flowers given to me by my 3 year old for scanning. These are the flowers from last week on the same day they were given.
Procrastination And A Year And A Half Of Self Portraits
Yes I am supposed to be doing something else…
I was looking back through some images and couldn’t resist putting up this series.
I should probably go back to what I am supposed to be doing 🙂
Enjoy

Melissa And Ilford Delta 3200
Here goes some shots from last weekends shoot with Melissa, Alicia and Renee.
These are from my F5 that was loaded with Ilford Delta 3200 Film and were possibly the only images that really looked like I saw them in my head. I only started using it near the end of the shoot rather than reloading my RZ67 and Rolleiflex.
Sometimes you just cant really beat using film 🙂

A Couple Of Polariods
A couple of polariods from Saturdays shoot with Melissa, Alicia and Renee. The second one had a bit of a light leak from the back not being attached properly but I still like it 🙂
