Fatherhood Friday 26: Kites, Bikes and Mud
All I can say is that it has been a full on couple of weeks!
Samantha finally got Chicken Pox, unfortunately on the day my parents arrived for a 4 day visit, and after the first day Emily had a 3 day bout of vomiting and diarrhea. So lets just say that the girls werent at their best for the visit.
Anyway here are a few shot from one of our trips to the ,still being built, bike track.
Cuba Festival Images
Three images from the 2009 Cuba Street Festival which turned out to be the last one 😦
This was one of the days that I pretty much started taking street images…
Nikon F5, 80-200mm f2.8 and 50mm f1.8 Lenses, Ilford HP5+ 400 ISO Film (I think)
A Couple of Skulls
Earlier this year I went exploring for some abandoned amunition storage units from WW2. Found heaps of them and they are apparently now the place where sheep go to die
Broken Machine
I only just noticed when I looked at the developed image that the gutter laying machine was missing a wheel and in the process of being repaired…
Fits in quite well with the whole broken thing…
More Broken
Broken umbrella found at the corner of Dixon Street and Victoria Street.
Finding broken things seems to be becoming a bit of a theme… Hmmmmm …
Broken Laptop Revisited
Another shot of the broken laptop (original here)
Kaikoura Sunset
Sunset taken while passing through Kaikoura…
Nikon F5, Tokina 19-35mm Lens, Fuji Velvia 50 ISO.
A Couple of Street Shooters
Thought it was about time that I introduced you all to the two cameras responsible for most of the mess of images that I put up here. The one missing, because it was taking the images, is a Nikon D70s with a very trashed 18-70mm Lens.
The Rolleiflex is the latest addition to my camera collection and I have to say that at the moment its a bit of a favourite (Dont tell the F5). Although not in perfect condition, with some lens destruction caused by someone trying to dismantle the lens assembly, it still takes a very sharp image.
I’ve had the F5 for the last 8 or so years. I bought it second-hand in London just before the advent of well priced DSLRs and it has lived up to all that I have asked of it and some that no camera should go through. Its starting to look a little rough and I’m onto my second 50mm f1.8 but it is still an awesome piece of engineering as well as doubling as a weapon if required.
Nikon D70s, 18-70mm Lens, ISO 200. Product table with 2 200W tungsten lights.
Always Take Your Piano With You…
Just missed the shot of the guy riding and playing the piano, he just hopped off to help get it up a steep patch and then of course this was the last shot on the roll of film 🙂
I Dont Think You Think That I am Taking a Photo of the Same Thing
This is a case of people thinking I am taking an image of one thing when really I am taking a picture of them.
Its kinda like camouflage but not really.
But that being said I was still taking an image of the broken post that someone must have backed into which has now been repaired but is about to be dug up due to massive roading change (all said really really fast and in one breath)
Ferry Sunset
Sunset taken from the Interisland Ferry leaving Picton a couple of years ago.
I think there might have been fires in Australia which accounts for the intense colour of the sky. (No modification in Photoshop)
Sorry this is a quick stock one while the excitement builds for the Rolleiflex I get back tomorrow!
Spinning
Playground toys can be great to photograph…
