Bus Fatality Memorial
Last Saturday while I was wandering around I spotted this memorial of flowers on Willis Street… I decided to lean up against the wall of shops and wait for people to interact with the memorial. It turned out to be quite an interesting 20 minutes. There seemed to be an invisible line where people wouldn’t stop if I was too close but didn’t seem to notice me at all if I was behind this line. The difference was only something like 30cm difference.
Unfortunately it started to rain after this and the foot traffic just disappeared…
It turns out that the Tuesday before a woman was hit and killed by a bus here (News article HERE)
This is part of the Manners Mall bus lane change where road layouts have changed and previously one-way streets have been turned into two-way streets for buses.
Addition: Walked past the same spot today and all the flowers are gone… I wonder if the council didn’t like the reminders…

Sequence Of Sam
Straight out of the camera and scanned as one negative… I really like the flow of this image… Half Frame is cool 🙂

Half Frame Tripod With Legwarmers
A couple more shots of the Tripod with its legwarmers. I thought the Pom Poms were a nice touch 🙂
This time in colour from my half frame… Not sure what is up with the crazy yellow shift in the first one. It probably means the film was somewhat expired 🙂

Even Tripods Get Cold
Its a bit hard to make out but the sculpture at the end of Courtenay Place has had legwarmers put on it by some Knitting Graffiti Personages. I took a series of closer shots on half frame camera but since it took three weeks to shoot 12 frames on Rollei it might take a while to get through seventy two on the Demi…

Man With Eagle Mirror
Maybe he stole it from a bar? Would have been good if I could have got my reflection in it but maybe next time 🙂

Winter Swim
Last week as Samantha and I were walking along the waterfront (Sam in her push chair not the usual backpack due to my ribs still being painful) we spotted some people about to jump off the pier. Getting into position quickly with a push chair kinda sux so the viewpoint wasnt too good.
It turned out that they were overseas students and this was their last day in Wellington before heading home so they decided to go for a swim… Lets just say it look freaking cold since we are well in the grip of winter here at the moment!

A Little Photoshop For Amusement
Someone suggested the post would be funnier if it was Pubic rather then Pulic… I don’t usually do much Photoshop on images but it made me smile on this cold and rainy day 🙂
Enjoy
Photoshopped from original… I don’t usually do this being a bit of a purist
Pulic Ownership?
I think someone may need to learn to spell… I Googled it just in case there was some hidden meaning I was missing…But no just a misspelling 🙂

Sleeper On The Waterfront
This was one of the reasons I wasn’t too worried about getting the Slut Walk (yesterdays post) all confused since I would have missed this sleeper if I had…
