Locks Of Love

This is something I have walked past countless times over the years but this is the first time I have noticed that all the padlocks have things written on them 🙂

Where The Heck Did 2013 Go?

Did I blink and miss half of it?

Here’s to a more photographically productive year in 2014…

Adventures In Assisting: Frenz Hair Salon

This is from a couple of weeks ago when I did a job with photographer Alicia Scott. Ivan and his team at Frenz Hair Salon were great to work with and it was a fun shoot. I even managed to plug Rollei into the lights, via pocket wizards, and snap a couple of shots 🙂

See one of the final shots on Alicia’s page HERE

A Bit Of Camera Repair

I finally got around to pulling apart my broken Canon Demi S half frame camera to see if I could get it back up and running. I found a repair manual online for a slightly different model of camera and started  dismantling. There was a major difference unfortunatley in how the front cover came off which would have saved a lot of time and trouble but you live and learn.

I got it all back together (with no extra bits left out) with the initial problem fixed but another problem arose which meant I needed to pull it al apart again… Lets just say its a work in progress 🙂

Luckily while I was doing this I was also bidding on another one online 🙂

GCSB Bill Protest Wellington Part 3… The Final

Last post from the GCSB protest on last weekend in Wellington.

These ones were taken on a Nikon FG20 which I bought from an Op Shop for $35. The film is also 8 years expired which gives it a bit of flaring and blocking out of the blacks.

I quite liked the effect as its not your usual super sharp, super well exposed documentary photos we are use to seeing.

GCSB Bill Protest Wellington

Well it looks like its been a while since I have posted anything…

I went to the GCSB Protest in Wellington last Saturday along with my trusty Rolleiflex 🙂 Only just started scanning the shots today and so far this one stands out…

In hindsight it is a bit weird that I went to a protest about being watched and listened in on… Street photographer and all 🙂

Two Ladies Talking

Still haven’t been getting out street shooting lately but taking the occasional shot when I do get into town… In the process of setting up a studio in the double garage under the house so will be interesting to see what come of it all. Hopefully going to bust out the 4×5 for some large format goodness 🙂
